IT Technician | Full Time Year Round

Overview

Looking for an individual to provide technical support to Loon Mountain employees to ensure they are able to perform their jobs to best serve the guests of Loon Mountain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide desktop PC support to Loon Mountain Resort employees and customers.

Good communication and guest service skills with both technical and business team members.

Assist with administering and maintaining production servers and enterprise applications that support Loon Mountain Resort’s operations.

Install and/or replacing network devices such as switches, wireless access points, wireless bridges, webcams, printers, phones, etc.

Maintain network cabling infrastructure (indoor and outdoor). Repair or replace defective wiring. Install wiring to support renovation, relocation, or new construction. Terminate wiring.

Maintain stocks of consumable supplies.

May be assigned additional tasks.

Use of personal vehicle for travel within the Loon Mountain area is required while on duty. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.

The ideal candidate has the following competencies:

Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications is required.

Understanding of basic Active Directory principles.

Knowledge of CAT5 and above cabling, T568B wiring standard, and cable count color codes a plus.

Ability to use basic hand tools is required.

Ability to use logic, vendor support, reference manuals, Internet resources, and documentation to solve problems is required.

Ski industry and/or related IT work experience is a plus.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record for company insurance purposes.

Ability to ski or snowboard at or above the beginner level to perform on-mountain tasks.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and CERTIFICATIONS

AS or BS degree in computer science, information systems or other related discipline, or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience along with the desire for life-long learning.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents and manuals, and compose routine reports and correspondence. Contact with the public, guests, and team members required. Guest service is a key element of the job and adherence to the Boyne service values is mandatory.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Problem-solving abilities and logical thinking are essential qualities of a team member in this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY

Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Loon Mountain Resort guests at all times.

Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.

Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.

Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.

Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.

Driving in accordance to the law and Loon Mountain Resort’s policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No direct staff supervision is required. May be tasked as a project leader for IT projects.

MATHEMATIAL SKILLS

Basic math skills are required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid NH Driver’s License. Resort certification on all necessary equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this Job, the team member is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Weekend work schedule required.

Night work schedule may be required.

The successful applicant will be required to carry a cellular phone.

Working environment can include dirty, dusty, damp, dark, hot and cold conditions.

Appropriate equipment will be provided for hazardous conditions.

Shared office setting at Loon Mountain Resort, with several team members sharing one large room. Each team member would have their own workstation, computer, and phone.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Some heavy equipment may need to be moved or installed.
